To increase everyone’s right to sight, ORBIS has chosen the theme “Sight for All 2010” as this year’s Pin Campaign. In this event, pin portraits were painted to show the faces of many of those who have benefited from ORBIS’ donors kindness in the past. TeleEye has always been supportive of the ORBIS. Many of our colleagues participated in this campaign and wore ORBIS pin to work on 14 October.
Since 1982, the ORBIS Flying Eye Hospital traveled to over 70 countries to train local eye care professionals and provide treatment to patients. Patients are selected with priority given to children, individuals who are bilaterally blind and ones who could not afford surgeries.
In October 2010, the ORBIS Flying Eye Hospital had traveled to Hong Kong. TeleEye was invited to visit the ORBIS Flying Eye Hospital. TeleEye staff had a great time and experience learning about the hospital and were happy to be able to participate in such a meaningful event.
